Speak It Into Existence

Scripture gives us many accounts of Jesus and his disciples speaking things into existence. It has been a concept of God’s literally since the beginning of time when He spoke the entire universe into existence. More recently in Mark 11:23, Jesus tells us we can speak to mountains and they have to move.
You may ask yourself what does “speak it into existence” actually mean, or how can I make that real in my own life? It seems like a simple concept, pretty easy, right?! I speak the words; and, Boom! Changes happen. Often times we speak the words and find that nothing changes (or it appears nothing changes). Discouragement sneaks in, we start questioning God, and find ourselves sinking.
I have been there (and, at times, still go there). As a matter of fact, “there” is the very reason I began seeking the Word for instruction.
I discovered my understanding of speaking things into existence was very shallow. The message of the promise is so much deeper than just “having faith” or speaking some superficial prayer (which we can all be guilty of). You know the prayer, “Lord, please change this in my life,” “Lord, please help with my finances,” “Lord, please save my loved one.” While God still hears (and answers) those types of prayers – let’s face it, there are times when that is all you can muster – it’s the prayers where we stand on the Word of God that bring the greatest victories.
In order to effectively pray using the Word, we must first truly understand and believe that every word of scripture is truth. Jesus cannot lie; there is nothing but truth inside of him. We must stand firmly on His truth (without wavering) and know that He is working to fulfill His promises in our lives. In John 14:14, Jesus says “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” It is His promise!
Just recently, an evangelist shared a relevant message with our congregation. (I love it when Jesus sends confirmation!) He said that sometimes if we have prayed and the mountain hasn’t moved, then we must understand (and accept) that we are in the perfect will of God. A greater purpose is at work. Romans 8:28 says “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” His purpose! We may not see it or know it, but God is still moving in our situations. His ways are higher and greater than we will ever imagine. We cannot give up. Dig deeper, study more, and praise Him- this trial could be preparation for the next season of our lives. He is molding us into His perfection. Remind yourself, Jesus is for His people. No weapon shall prosper when we stand in the fullness of His truth.
Lord Jesus, I am standing firmly on your truth today. Give me greater revelation, open my eyes to the fullness of your glory. Your Word says ask in Jesus name and I shall receive. So here I am asking in the mighty name of Jesus. I believe your word is true, I believe victory is mine, and I believe that it is finished! In Jesus Name!
